Yes! Massage can provide pain relief. Jody’s clients have a wide range of issues including neck pain, migraines, low back problems, shoulder issues, sciatic pain, etc.
The most common remark Jody hears from her clients is,
“I’ve been everywhere. You’re the first person to help.”
This isn’t a typical relaxation-focused massage. Jody’s specialty is clinical treatment of soft tissues using neuromuscular/trigger point release therapy to quickly get the body functioning without pain. After one massage with her, you’ll understand the difference and the true healing power of a good therapeutic massage.

Experience counts! With 20 years experience, she has given 25,000+ massages! She feels what’s going on in the body better than most. For example, a recent client had been to six physical therapy sessions and wasn’t seeing improvement in his neck, shoulder, and arm pain. During his first massage with Jody, she noticed his ribs were out. After getting an adjustment by a chiropractor to get his ribs back in place and a massage with Jody, he was already feeling 90% better.
“Jody Brown is the most effective massage therapist I have experienced. She has extensive training in multiple modalities and a deep understanding of the body. I had been in pain for years before I went to her. In just a few visits, she had identified the underlying problems and relieved them—no more pain! Then she taught me how to help keep the issues from recurring. I have recommended Jody to many people over the years—and they, too, have been thrilled with the results.” —Susan R. (from email)

How Does Massage Reduce Pain?

Neuromuscular trigger point release therapy can help underlying causes of chronic pain
Injuries and pain happen. If you’re in a car accident and suffer from whiplash, for example, that can create trigger points in your body. Trigger points are essentially hyper-irritable points in the tissue. Your muscles refer certain pain patterns from these trigger points, as shown by the x’s on the diagram. The surprising part for many people is that the pain they feel in one part of the body can be related to trigger points in a completely different area of the body. Jody excels at working with these trigger points to fix the issue(s) causing pain.
While massage can’t solve every cause of pain (such as in the example above where the ribs were out, she could identify the issue but the solution needed a joint effort with a chiropractor to get the ribs back in place), if the pain is caused by an issue in the soft tissue, Jody can find it and take care of it.
If you’re wondering how to know if Jody can help you, the best way to find out is to schedule a session, she can tell you a lot more about what’s going on in your body on the massage table than over the phone.
“I have been a client of the Human Touch for over 10 years! Jody is extremely knowledgeable about the human body and can specifically work on a certain area or give a total relaxation experience. I have been to other massage therapists and no one can give me the experience that is provided at The Human Touch!” —Judy D. (from email)
